Meet our Team!

Veterinary Doctor
Dr. Joey Cowan
I was born and raised in Oregon, where my interest in caring for animals began at an early age. I moved to Southern California my senior year in high school, and I have been here ever since.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree and my Master’s Degree in Animal Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona California.
My interests are in dermatology, surgery, and internal medicine. I am married with four children. I love playing board games with my family as well as traveling and cooking. We have quite the menagerie of animals including 5 dogs, a cat, a rabbit, a hamster, a box turtle, a parrot, and some fish!Â

Veterinary Doctor
Dr. Nicholas Storey
I was raised in Indiana where I was exposed to all kinds of animals and wildlife growing up; participating in 4-H showing rabbits and a cat. I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at Purdue University where I also volunteered at the vet school oncology clinic and large animal hospital.
I attended veterinary school at Ross University on the beautiful island of St. Kitts and completed my clinical training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After receiving my DVM and license in 2017 I have been working with the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter ever since.
My clinical interest is primarily in shelter medicine and surgery- providing care for companion animals and occasional exotic species. In my downtime I love to paint, read sci-fi, and travel somewhere new. I have two very spoiled cats and a myriad of houseplants.
